Limoges
The Porcelaine industry has made Limoges and its firms world famous. You can for example visit Haviland's museum with its fine examples of porcelaine.
Limoges is also the capital of the arts of fire having gained this distinction thanks to the production of highly sophisticated enamelworks.
For lovers of architecture, Limoges-Bénedictins train station, one of the most beautiful in Europe with its 60 meters Campanile, became one of the town's landmarks.
Pompadour
This rural district is well known for its national stud, its presentation of thoroughbred Anglo-arab and draught horses which are highly recognised abroad.
You'll discover the universe of horse racing on the Pompadour Racecourse.
The XVth Century Castle with its majestic facade is owned by the National stud.
Oradour sur glane
On the 10th of June 1944, the village of Oradour sur Glane and its inhabitants suffered under Nazi barbarism.
Since then the martyred village has been preserved in its original state.
A Memorial (Remembrance center) retraces the events that led to this tragedy.
Le lac de Vassivière
It's one of the biggest artificial lakes in France. Located in the heart of the Limousin region between Haute-Vienne, Creuse and Correze departments, you'll find at the north, the Regional Natural Park of Millevaches.
1000 hectares of pure water, 45 km of varied shoreline in a well-preserved environment !
Vassiviere: it's also the charm of the Limousin mountains, its diverse landscape such as peat-bog grounds, traditional granite villages made by builders from the Creuse department, its cultural life, its rich heritage, numerous excursions and unusual discoveries.
